Amber Austin / President (she/her)
With dual Master’s degrees (Corporate Law and Political Science) Ms Austin is well-versed in the politics and struggles within the LGBTQ community and has been a staunch advocate on behalf of the community. Amber is a former accomplished attorney, has over a decade of experience in different capacities with other LGBTQ+ organizations, and is one of the founding members of EGAL.
Paul Sherwood /
Vice-President (he/him)
Mr. Sherwood is an experienced “leadership development specialist”, facilitator, and executive. Passionate about developing leaders to tackle the complex issues we face in a rapidly changing future, LGBTQ+ rights and discrimination, he is a pillar of EGAL and a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Mr Sherwood is also an accredited Executive Coach, Resilience @ Work Practitioner, and Team Management Systems Practitioner.
Nicholas Dyer / Treasurer (they/he)
With a background in finance and investing Nicholas undertakes capacity-building in both professional and community spheres through active roles on multiple committees and groups. He carries out his work, service, and advocacy with respect and accountability, striving for equity, inclusion, and agency for diverse groups and individuals, including those impacted by structural inequalities and discrimination.
Doris Higgenbotham / Secretary (she/her)
Ms Higgenbotham holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a Master’s in Public Management and Policy. Throughout her studies and professional activities, she is specifically interested in public policies that promote the integration and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals in society. She has over 25 years of experience working in various roles with other non-profit organizations within the LGBTQ+ community.
