The Senseless Attack on The  LGBTQ+ Community

Pride Flag Burning

There is currently an overt attack on the LGBTQ+ community. As of May 1, 2023, more than 500 “anti-LGBTQ+” bills have been introduced in State Legislatures  (with 70 of them being enacted so far). Of those Bills, over 220 of them target Trans and  “Nonbinary people”. The LGBTQ+ Community is one of the most “least threatening” and “harmless”  demographics within society – yet the most discriminated against and “targeted”. Discrimination comes in many forms; from landlords refusing to lease to “same-sex couples” to companies reluctant to hire (or promote) qualified people because of their “sexual orientation”.  We are The Egalitarian Society (EGAL). A 501 (C)(3), Non-profit Organization that advocates for (and on behalf of) the LGBTQ+ Community. We exist solely on contributions/donations and desperately need your help. Please make a “tax-deductible” contribution/donation today!

* “But I already contribute to a non-profit  LGBTQ+  organization”.  Some great organizations exist that do phenomenal work but it’s not a matter of “either-or”…. (we’re all in this struggle together).  It’s great to support the fight but the issue is often the larger more “established” organizations (that already receive government grants and subsidies) take the “lion’s portion” of donations and leave the smaller organizations “struggling” ….even though we’re fighting for the same cause. (It’s great to support but please don’t forget the smaller organizations who do just as much).

* “But I don’t have much to contribute”.  No contribution is too great or too small (even if it’s $5 ) and there are other ways to contribute. For example; You may not have an abundance of “financial resources” (but your employer does and many of them need “tax write-offs” anyway) (all donations to EGAL are “tax deductible”). We highly recommend you go to your employer and request that they offer “corporate sponsorship”  (especially those companies that are LGBTQ+ owned or operated).

* “But I’m “straight”, (heterosexual) and not part of the LGBTQ+ community”.  You may not be part of the LGBTQ+ community but you have neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family members that are, therefore you are indirectly affected by the laws that target and discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community. You can always contribute in honor (or on behalf of) a friend, associate, or loved one that is part of “the community”.
